Going Through Tough Times…

Death… a 5 letter word that makes even the “reigns” of this world come to a halt. Ever since ‘the fall’ of Adam&Eve, death has been a part of this world, and it is something that throughout time has brought peoples and nations to their knees, and even Messiah Yahshua wept for the death of his dear friend.

When you witness the passing away of something you either loved or took care of, whether it be of a friend or loved one, or an animal that was special to you, especially when you feel that they have gone too soon, it is something that truly rocks you to your core. It makes you realize your own morality, and how time is so very short on this planet we English-Speaking people call Earth. For some, they become angry and upset, questioning why death happens to those they love, especially when it is unexpected. For others, they become sullen and depressed, closing themselves apart from the rest of the world, including many times even from their own family.

But YHWH promises to be near us and with us during these very difficult times, and know that there is always a purpose and a reason for why it happens when it happens…

Psalms 34:18
YHWH is near to the broken-hearted, And saves those whose spirit is crushed.

Psalms 73:26
My flesh and my heart may fail, but Elohim is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Romans 8:28
And we know that all matters work together for good to those who love Elohim, to those who are called according to His purpose.

As believers in Messiah, we have a promise that He will never leave us nor forsake us(Hebrews 11:35), and that He will be with us and comfort us, even through the “valley of the shadow of death”(Psalms 23:4). I pray that even through death and turmoil, that we can continue to stand, and “Be Strong and Courageous” even through discouraging times like this, as Joshua told the Children of Israel:

Joshua 1:9

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, nor be discouraged, for YHWH your Elohim is with you wherever you go.”

May you be comforted by these words today, and may YHWH give you His Shalom!
