Rice is a staple food here in Costa Rica, and with the help of a dear Sister who lives halfway down the Mountain from us, we were able to find another great way to use the Wonder Oven!
How to make Wonder Oven Rice:
3 cups of rice, rinsed and drained
4 cups of water
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon of diced onion
2 teaspoons of green bell pepper
3 teaspoons of oil
1. In a pot with hot oil, saute the onion and pepper.
2. Stir in the rice.
3. Add the water and salt.
4. Cook with the lid on for 3-4 minutes until boiling.
5. Place pot in bag.
6. Close bag tightly with top pillow.
7. Let it slow cook in the bag for about 45 minutes to an hour.
And it’s done!
The wonderful thing about cooking rice in the Wonder Oven is that it won’t burn or over cook.
The rice always comes out nice and fluffy!
